PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE SUMMER 2024
Dear HWBC Membership
I hope everyone is enjoying what has been so far a hot, but fun summer to date. We have had quite a busy few weeks! I would like to thank all of the Hartford Whalers Alumni, the Hartford Yard Goats, and to all those who purchased tickets either for the charity luncheon, the baseball game, or both. I would also like to thank our friends at the Springfield Hockey Heritage Society, and the Springfield Hockey alumni for another wonderful Hockeyday celebration at the Big E Fairgrounds. I am certain I speak for the entire booster club when I say we are already counting the days until those two weekends show up on the 2025 calendar.
Speaking of which, the 2024/2025 hockey season is suddenly right around the corner! Our first membership meeting of the 2024/2025 season will be Monday, September 9, 2024, at a location to be announced very soon. Membership meetings are scheduled on the 2nd Monday of the month during the season, with no official meeting for December, due to the club Christmas Party, or in April, due to the FANiversary which is held on April 13, in honor of the anniversary of our Whalers final game in Hartford. As of now, the meeting schedule is as follows:
Monday, September 9 (in person) Monday, February 10 (on Zoom)
Monday, October 14 (in person) Monday, March 10 (on Zoom)
Monday, November 11 (in person) Monday, May 12 (in person)
Monday, January 13 (on Zoom) Monday, June 9 (in person -- Election Night)
A friendly reminder that membership for the 2024/2025 season is now due, at $10/person. Payment can be made online, or you can send a check to our PO Box, or in person at a membership meeting.
There has been discussion about going to a NHL game during the 2024/2025 season, either in Long Island (UBS Arena), Newark (Prudential Center) or Philadelphia (Wells Fargo Center). If there is a particular game you are interested in, please do not hesitate to reach out to myself or any other board member.
